NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE
The National Defence College is the apex military training institution for the Nigerian Armed Forces, and a Centre of Excellence for peace support operations training at the strategic level in West Africa. It was established in 1992 as the highest military institution for the training of senior military officers in Nigeria.

Commandant
Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Morakinyo OLOTU was born on the 27 February 1971 and hails from Ikare-Akoko Local Government Area of Ondo State. The Admiral attended local education authority primary school Ikare Akoko Ondo State, Federal Government College Port Harcourt Rivers before he gained admission as a member of 39 regular course at Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna. He graduated in 1991 with Bachelor Of Science in biological sciences. He also obtained Master Of Arts in International Security And Strategic Studies from Kings College London in 2014.

Deputy Commandant
Major General Abdulsalam Enesi Abubakar was born on 6 October 1972 in Kaduna State to the family of Alhaji and Hajiya Ismaila Abubakar. He attended primary School and secondary education in Ilorin, Kwara State. He subsequently proceeded to the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy on 17 August 1990 as a member of the 42nd Regular Combatant Course and was commissioned on 16 September 1995 into the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps. The Senior Officer has attended several military courses during his military career, few among which includes United Nations Training Assistance Team Course, North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Course in Darfur, Negotiation and Mediation Course in Ghana, Senior Staff Course at the prestigious AFCSC Jaji. Others are Army Battalion Course in Nanjing China, Harvard Executive Course, as well as the Strategic Communication Course at the Partnership for Peace Training Centre at Ankara, Turkey.

Adam Okene Ahmed was born in December 1963 in Okene, Kogi State of Nigeria where he obtained his early education at the Primary, Secondary and Islamiyyah Schools. He obtained his Higher School Certificate at the School Basic Studies, Kwara State College of Technology, Ilorin Kwara State. He came top with Sir Michael Crowther Prize for the best graduating History student at the Bayero University, Kano in 1987. His MA and PhD were in Political Economy (History) and Economic History respectively.
